If you do not have a lot of fitness knowledge, as trainer, I think it is irresponsible to go at it by yourself. You have expert eyes on you (or should of the trainer is doing his/her job). One area where they are lacking is rotational movements and exercises working the transverse plane (probably bc they require more space).ģ). That means it is designed for less respetitive motion stress on your joints. The cardio interval training concept is to train smarter, not harder. They also bring in new exercises and go out with ones that don’t work well.
That is HARD, and takes a lot of time to design. They fit together like a puzzle, even if you don’t come every day. I’ve been told by multiple trainers that the templates go through an entire design process so the exercises can accommodate everyone and don’t enhance muscle imbalances. Perhaps most importantly is the programming. You can get a Concept 2 for less money but it isn’t as smooth and in my opinion more complicated to use with changing the gear, etc.Ģ).

Treadmills are more forgiving on the joints and with the software upgrade they increase and decrease in speed quickly. You can’t get the combination of positives anywhere else without paying two to three times as much.ġ). I just wanted to share these thoughts for anyone else that is struggling to keep paying for OTF. I am getting the best deal out of these friends but it's really hard to realize! That is 2 months of OTF that I never attend. I have a $300 one sitting in the basement gathering dust. My other friend bought a Nordic Track XX2i incline trainer treadmill for $3k! That is 19 months of OTF. That is 14+ months of getting my butt kicked by coaches I love and using nice equipment. Nevermind that "it's and investment in me", but my friend just paid $2500k+ monthly, for a Peloton bike. They gawk when I tell them.Īs I try to convince them to join me, they say "how much per month!?" "No way, no how."Īs I have battled back and forth over the last 6 months I have come to realize how inexpensive OTF really is!! When I am talking with coworkers and friends I'm almost ashamed to admit what I pay each month. I am constantly debating with myself about paying the unlimited fee at OTF.
